Office IQ was a small business/midmarket managed IT solution; Small/mid sized businesses can have all their IT request filled by both an SMS based IT concierge and onsite visits filled by an IT tech network built in the area
Small/Medium sized business do not have good access to IT services that's affordable. The dominant force for IT support for small and medium sized businesses are small IT companies called MSPs that charges a 4x-6x multiple on top of labor to manage IT for a business. The technology managing IT issues for small businesses are also poor, it's not a fit when you have a email based ticketing system for a lot of non-technical workers at a business that may or may not have a computer at work.
Using technology, we wanted to:
-Build a platform that signs up remote and onsite IT workers and deliver IT services like Uber delivers drivers
-Create an SMS -> Slack system that our clients can use to tap into our service network
-Disrupt the pricing of IT services by charging a 40% margin instead of a 4x-6x on top of labor
We are building a Uber for IT with SMS and Slack as endpoints for our clients and techs respectively.
1. Client reach out with an issue on SMS and it is pass to the corresponding Slack channel
2. Techs in the slack channel reply back to the user and either remotely login or call back
3. Using the slack bot in the channel, he checks in and out for the hour he spends on the client; The client is charged for the amount, the tech gets paid for is, and we make an intermediary fee around 40%.
